Windows 10: Computer thinks there's two monitors

I plugged in the HDMI1 cable into the motherboard when I was repairing my computer and now it seems to think there are two monitors. In my settings, there's a second monitor that, while undetectable, still affects reboots (it automatically goes into VGA first, then HDMI1).
Is this a BIOS issue or can I fix it through Windows 10? There's no option to "delete" the extra monitor, which is apparently #1 priority while my actual monitor is #2. This explains why my computer reboots into VGA first, then HDMI once it detects no actual #1 monitor.

In most cases, this error is transitory or short-lived issues caused by very slight interruptions in communications between the computer being updated and the Windows update servers.

Let us resolve this by running the Hardware Troubleshooter and see if it would do the trick. To do this:

• Type “Troubleshooting” in the Search bar and press Enter.
• Click on “View All” in the top left corner.
• This will display the list of troubleshooters which are built-in on the computer. You can click on Hardware and Devices from the list and you can run the troubleshooter.

While it's likely you already have the most recent driver, if you're having trouble with a device, updating your device driver would be the best course to take. This ensures that you'll have the latest fix for bugs and errors.

Windows now thinks I have two monitors when I don't

So, just got the new update, and while going through the process of reorganising my desktop I discovered a brand new problem. When my mouse cursor hits the left side of the screen it doesn't stop. So basically, if I move my mouse that way, it behaves
as if it disappeared onto another monitor, but I only have a single monitor setup. Can someone fix this? It's making complications in a few cases while I try to work or even just relax with some games. It's also just really such a stupid issue to have since
I've never had a two monitor setup in my history of using computers.
