Windows 10: Computer types Backward slash \ continously

Discus and support Computer types Backward slash \ continously in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; I have a Dell XPS 15 laptop with Windows 11.     I have a Dell XPS 15 laptop with Windows 11. All of a sudden , my system keeps typing \\\\... continously, stops at a certain point and toss again. This happens at all text entry fields including browser urls. I rqn McAfee anti-virus scan, malwarebytes anti malware scan and windows defender scan to no avail. Any clues? Please help. Thank you!

    Cannot get Forward OR Backward Slash to work in Windows 10

    Hello,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community and we are happy to help you.

    You are not able use forward slash key and backward slash key on your keyboard

    Could you answer few questions:

    • Have you made any recent changes on your computer prior to the issue?
    • What is the make and model of the keyboard?
    • Do you have problem with any other keys?

    I would like you to use On screen keyboard and check.

    Follow these steps:

    • Press Windows key+W and type On Screen Key Board.
    • Select Turn on screen Key Board on or off.
    • Click on Start On Screen Key Board.
    A new key board window will open up. Try to use that and check if it works.

    Post back us with results. We’ll be glad to assist you.

    Yes, I've looked at the post on wrong keys. Dated 2010, and didn't help.

    Backward slash on the keyboard gives something else. That key doesn't give a backward slash.

    What is the question?

    The backward slash key is immediately above the enter key: \

    The forward slash key is immediately to the left of the right shift key: /
