Computer when I press ctrl v does nothing but just v brings up my clipboard so I can’t type the letter v

ctrl + c ctrl + v not working

Q1. Are you using Synergy mouse/keyboard-sharing software?

(In my experience its shared clipboard can clash with Windows' enhanced Clipboard User Service rendering the clipboard unresponsive in both Windows and Synergy.)

Q2. If you stop Windows' Clipboard User Service, does CTRL+c and CTRL+v work again (i.e. using Windows' built-in 'legacy' clip.exe)?

To test:
1. Press Win+r keys together then, when the Run dialog appears, type services.msc then press Enter/Return.
2. When the Services window appears, scroll down to 'Clipboard User Service_xxxxx' (where xxxxx is 5 random characters).
3. Right-click on the service and choose Stop.
4. Minimise the window then try CTRL+c and CTRL+v in something like Notepad.
5. When you've carried out that test, return to the Services window, right-click on the 'Clipboard User Service_xxxxx' entry and choose Start. You can close the Services window at this point.

Windows Clipboard (Windowns Key + V) Not Showing Up

Problem: When I press the Windows key + V, the Clipboard history menu does not show up.

Windows Info: Windows 10 Pro Version 21H2 Build 19044.1706

Details:

• The Clipboard menu worked fine a week ago.
  
• Just copying and pasting using Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V still works.
  

Things I've Tried Already:

1. Enabling "Clipboard History" in Clipboard settings

2. Turning on "Sync Across Devices" in Clipboard settings

3. Clearing clipboard data from Clipboard settings

4. Changing regedit values

5. Changing group policy values

6. Running sfc /scannow

7. Running DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

8. Restarting File Explorer from Task Manager

Any help would be appreciated.

 

ctrl+v not working

The clipboard is working fine then. Sometimes applications may lock the clipboard and block other apps from copying data... but that's not the case here.

See if it works if you use the On-Screen Keyboard to test. If it works there, then try changing your keyboard. If CTRL V doesn;t work even when using On-Screen keyboard, then do a clean boot to test, or perhaps from Safe mode.
