Windows 10: Computer won't recognize/detect my Canon Printer MG2570S when plugging in

OS: W10:HSL - 22h2Issue: Plugging in a printer usb doesn't get detected, but my usbs work in all the other ports.Tried: Downgrading to W10 from W11, resetting printer, off-on method, resetting computer, using the driver from the website AND disk itself, bought new cables for it.

Updated Driver for Canon PIXMA MG2570S for Windows 10 Version 1809?

I am running Windows 10 (1809), and have tried installing the driver for
the Canon PIXMA MG2570S. I have done this numerous times using various protocols (installation CD, Canon web-site issued driver, and etc.) I have followed various trouble-shooting guides both from Microsoft and from Canon. Every attempt to install the driver
for this printer have failed! (I did manage install the driver on a machine running Linux, Ubuntu 18). Has anyone managed to install this printer on a computer running Windows 10, version 1809? If so please share what you did. Thanks.

 

Printer device mysteriously no longer recognized then strange recovery

Canon Pixma MX860, multi-printer (print, fax, scan). Was working just fine, connected via USB to my HP laptop running Windows 10 20H2. I printed a document. Next, in order to reach for something I removed the USB cable for the printer, then plugged it back in. After that, no online printer detected. I plugged the USB plug into a different USB socket. Then another. Still no printer device, "offline." I restarted the printer. I restarted the laptop. STILL... printer offline.

I plug in the USB cable into my spare laptop. Printer recognized! I could print, no problem. So I go back to my other laptop and... no change. "Printer offline." I plugged in a USB mouse and a USB flash memory drive. Both recognized. But the printer? Nothing.

So I go into the Devices & Printers and I see the printer device listed. What's strange is that it's listed as Canon MX860 series Fax (Copy 1). If I check the Printer Properties, I find 4 listings -- printer, fax, printer (copy 1), fax (copy 2). This is weird. So I go for broke... I simply delete the device. I unplug the USB cable, then plug it back in. Finally, I hear the Windows audible cue that a device is recognized. The printer reappears. This time it's not "MX860 series Fax (Copy 1)," but now "MX860 series Printer. And there's just 2 entries for properties (printer and fax). This was such a strange experience.

Any idea what could've caused this to happen and why a manual removal of the printer device was required?

 

Windows 11 Does Not Detect Canon iP7220 Printer

I am trying to install a Canon iP7220 inkjet printer onto my new Windows 11 computer. The installation never gets past connecting the printer and turning it on. Eventually an error message is added to the "Connect Cable" screen saying "Caution! Cannot detect the printer."

Windows 11 Pro is installed and has been updated through Oct. 26.

Canon's PIXMA iP7220 is supported by Windows 11 (Canon KB FAQ100626, 10/26/2021). Canon's driver, version 1.01, dated 10/4/2021, was downloaded Oct. 26.

Prior to trying to install the driver, Device Manager showed that USB Printing Support was not among the installed USB controllers -- Canon Support suggests deleting it if it is there before installing the driver as one of its troubleshooting suggestions (Canon KB ART115269, solution 820254100-EN-US, for a different model).

The USB port has been eliminated as a possible cause by trying the installation on various ports, both USB 2.0 and USB 3.2. Successfully plugging the keyboard, the mouse and flash drives into these ports reinforces this conclusion.

The printer and the USB cable have been eliminated as possible causes by installing the driver on a Windows 10 laptop. It took less than a minute for the printer to be detected after turning it on.
