Windows 10: Computer wont turn off

Everytime I go to shut my computer off whether I need to restart or shut it off it will stay on the either shutting off or restarting screen with the cog wheel spinning and my computers selected color as the background and it will never actually shut off or restart until I hold the power button. Any fixes for this?

My hp laptop wont turn on

This is a frequent problem am sure as you have already seen from online searches.

Flea power is usually the culprit here, basically its residual power that remains on the computer even after thecomputer has been shutdown. You can drain the flea power with the steps the other answers have suggested.

• Disconnecting the battery and adapter
• Press the hardpress the power button for 30 seconds
• This should clear the flea power

Computer wont turn on

I installed a new PSU in my old computer Q6600 setup I had, turned it on it worked I was installing Windows 7, and I leave to go to class while it installs it self and when I get back I can just put in whatever I need to for information serial number etc. I come back and then computer is completely off, tried turning it on and it wont come on, led lights on the motherboard wont turn on etc. What could this be?? im guessing its the PSU, but it could be the motherboard right?

 

PC shut down, wont turn back on

The fan twitch is it powering up and then the psu is noteing a short and cutting out hence why it wont do it again straight after until it's reset, something is blown or shorted out so you need to do as someone suggested and split the pc out then, on a table build the minimum up as he said and step by step see what's happening.
