Windows 10: Computers freezes randomly at startup only shutdown button to restart works

Hello,During the last months I found a problem with five computers in our company: when they log into Windows the system stops and we have to press shutdown button to restart neither control+alt+delete worksThis problem occurs randomly. Sometimes is one of these five computers, another day is the other computer...but they still freezing occasionally.The computers are new, they were bought in different stores a few months ago some even a few days agoThese computers are different: they are not by the same brand and model, and they have different specifications. We have a DELL Vostro 3520 Int

I had already tried turning off fast startup, to no avail.
Will look at the list you provided, thanks. Hard to do when computer freezes on the Windows loading screen though. *Biggrin

Steps

• Open a run box
• type in "gpedit.msc"
• Expand Computer Configuration
• Expand Windows Settings
• Select Scripts (Startup/Shutdown)
• Double click Startup
• Click Show Files and copy/paste your file in to this folder
• Click the Add button on the startup properties
• Click Browse and double click on your script to choose it.
• "OK" out of all windows to apply the new settings.

Windows 10 "Shutdown Button" Not Working - I Give Up

Hello, Caxtin. I’ve not actually heard about this before - I’m assuming when you shut down and make a small mouse or keyboard input it turns on instantly? My guess on the fix is to disable Fast startup. Fast Startup is also known as Windows Hybrid Shutdown. Follow these steps to disable it:

1. Open the Control Panel
2. Go to Hardware and Sound → Power Options
3. Click on Choose what the power button doeschoose what the power button does
4. Go to Shutdown Settings
5. Uncheck the Turn on Fast Startup (recommended) optionturn off fast startup windows 10
6. Apply the changes.

If you can’t uncheck Fast Startup, click on the option Change settings that are currently unavailable. You could also run the shutdown command to see if that works (a method of troubleshooting if the above option doesn’t work) In the start menu type: Shutdown /s /t 0 - *Smile
