    Computers won't recognize new projector

The short version is I replaced my Optoma projector for my golf simulator and my shooting simulator with a BenQ projector. Now I get no audio and intermittent video connection via HDMI.

Longer version: Both of my gaming computers are Windows 10 with Nvidia cards that worked fine with the Optoma projector. I upgraded for better faster graphics. Now when I turn on the projector and either computer, the computer may or may not get recognized by the projector and I get video probably half the time but I never get audio. Went through it with tech reps from the shooting simulator company and the golf simulator company. All drivers for Nvidia and Windows were updated several time now. I talked with the rep from BenQ to trouble shoot the projector and he had me plug in a Firestick to check audio and video. Projector worked great in both audio and video. Then I tried my Dell laptop with Windows 10 but not Nvidia and it worked great too. One big difference I noticed was that the laptop which worked fine had the BenQ projector listed under Device Manager>Audio Inputs& Outputs where the other two computers showed only Realtech and Nvidia. I tried to "detect" new display, start restart... all to no effect but still listed Optoma and Nvidia as "not plugged in". I then tried the two computers back with a separate TV monitor and the old Optoma and got good audio and video hookups on both. I am using the same HDMI cable with and without signal booster and ports for all configurations of the Dell laptop and the two gaming computers. To someone with the computer savvy of a first grader it seems like the Nvidia - Optoma connection is somehow blocking the connection to the BenQ.

    Could use some advice

    Thanks

    :)

    Hi Adnan,

To better assist you, we would like to know the following:

    • Are you getting any error messages?
    • What troubleshooting steps you've done so far?

For the meantime, we suggest you to update your drivers for your projector. You can get the drivers through
Windows Update or through the manufacturer's website.

    Windows 10 Doesn't Recognize Projector

We have a similar problem, after using my projector on Windows 8.1 all year with no problems, I cannot project my powerpoints.

I tried to update my AMD RadionHD8330 driver using devise manager, but it couldn't find one (we have an Easynote TE69KB Laptop). The projector has there is no signal from the corrected linked computer and the Control Panel lists the projector as an unknown
device with set-up in progress. In the old days you had to press the (Fn) key + one of the Function keys before starting, but I have never had to do this since getting the laptop. Any further suggestions?
