    Just got a new PC and having trouble with one of my email accounts so contacted chat assistance via windows. My concern is actually with the person who was doing the "remote assistance" on my pcAt several points in the assistance she did not appear to be doing anything that I could see on my screen and for some time, perhaps a few minutes.I am assuming she cannot access parts of my pc during remote assistance without me seeing what she is doing but is that a definite? Then, during our conversation it appeared that the password I was entering she could not see it as it was black dots was not

    Just a suggestion, based on personal experience and opinion: No third party programs are required for assisting friends and family. Windows has a built-in tool for that: Get and Give Remote Assistance with Quick Assist app in Windows 10

    • Which edition of Windows 10 is installed in your computer?

    How to use Remote Desktop

    Note: You may open the Start menu and click on search bar to access search bar. Except the search bar option, everything will work in Windows 10 as suggested in the above article. You may not access some of
    the computers if they are connected to domain. If you can see the sign-in screen of the remote PC but you can't sign in, you might not have been added to the Remote Desktop Users Group or to any group with administrator rights on the remote
    PC. Ask your system admin to do this for you.
