  1. Concerning Windows 10 latest update

Every time I let windows do an update, my whole desktop with all my program icons , folders and files are deleted or missing and the new desktop has virtually set back to basic screen and a new desktop. I checked all the places the internet told me to look for my files but no luck. So I was told to delete the new update and restart after that happens. Everything was back to where it was before the update. I let my computer run, as always, and went to bed. I checked my computer in the morning only to find out that Windows 10 had rebooted itself with the latest update during the night and everything was gone again. I did this several times before I grew enraged. Of course this took time over a period of two days playing with this update.

I saw on How-To-Geek website there was a fix and redeleted the update. I then paused the update to some date 2-3 weeks from now not to cause my computer to reboot with the latest update until that future date. So far I have prolonged this update from happening for almost a month, but something will eventually cause my computer to reboot with this accursed update. Can anyone at Microsoft or the community help me. I'm at a total loss as to what to do!

    :)

Microsoft to make Windows 10 updates mandatory

Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/defer-upgrades-in-windows-10

I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.

    Concerning Windows 10 latest update

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
