    Conexant 20671 audio driver - "failed to play test tone"


    Hi all

    I am having repeatedly problems with my audio since i've installed windows 10. After searching for solution the only method that works is to run sfc /scannow and restart.
    But after I'm restarting I have no sound again.
    I'm with Lenovo e420s cto4401.

    tried to update drivers but they don't have win10 version.

    any ideas ?

    Built in Microphone not working after Installing Windows 10

    For Lenovo thinkpad, I had solved the problem of my internal mic, it is now working. I rolled back the driver Conexant 20671 SmartAudio HD to High Definition Audio Device and the internal mic worked perfectly. However the window update will install the driver
    for Conexant 20671 SmartAudio HD again and I have to roll back the driver to the old one (even though I have changed the setting to disable hardware driver update.) I think the driver for Conexant 20671 SmartAudio HD is not compatible with window 10. Window
    10 also does not allow us to deselect the driver we do not want. Hope this help.

    Speakers not working but headphones are?

    when i applyed my default to speakers/headphones (IDTHigh Definition Audio CODEC) i tried to test it out, but a pop up comes up and says , "failed to play test tone" but when i play a test tone Communications Headphones (IDTHigh Definition Audio CODEC)
    Its able to play
