Windows 10: Conexant ISST driver deleted...now no sound whatsoever

Hello,I have an older HP EliteBook that developed problems with the Conexant ISST audio system. I appreciate that Conexant went out of business in 2014, which was news to me when I began searching for a solution to this problemAfter hours of research, I deleted the driver.Now after more hours of research, I have found no way to update the driver.SURELY there must be a solution, a generic driver, a new sound card, something to resurrect this machine that mostly works ok otherwise except the bogging down from Antimalware Service Executable that also has taken tens of hours to try and fix to no

Conexant driver update for Conexant SmartAudio HD

To figure out if the update fails or not, we can simply check and compare the driver version after the update. Follow the steps below for more information:

• Search for Device Manager via Cortana.
• Look for Conexant from the list of devices (should be under Sound, video and game controllers)
• Right click and select properties
• Check the driver version from the Driver tab.

How can I permanently uninstall Conexant SmartAudio HD audio driver

It's not work. I have done this

1. download and run the program you suggested.

Conexant driver is not on the list (select to hide)

2. uninstall Conexant driver

High Definition Audio Device is in used now

3. run program again

Conexant driver still not on the list (select to hide)

4. restart my laptop

High Definition Audio Device still in used.

5. run program again

Conexant driver is on the list (select to hide)

6. Select Conexant and Hide it

Conexant driver is now in hidden list

7. a few minutes later my laptop notify me to restart my laptop to finished setting up Conexant

Conexant driver is now disappear from the hidden list and take over my sound device again.

Windows 10 SOUND DRIVERS SOLUTION (CONEXANT)


Hello!

Recently i had the problem of having no sound at all after updating to windows 10. I figured that i wasn't the only one with this problem.

Solution:
1) Go to Computer Management > Device Manager.
Go to v Audio -input and -output
Press the arrow key .
2) you will now see 2 options, your internal Microphone (Conexant smartaudio HD)
and your internal speaker/headphone (Conexant smartaudio HD)
RIGHT CLICK BOTH OF THEM AND CLICK UNINSTALL (this should be option 3 when right click.)

3) Scroll down trough the Device manager list until you see v Audio, video and games
Again, press the arrow key.
4) When you click the arrow key, you should be able to see 2 options, Conexant smartaudio HD AND NVIDIA High Definition Audio. Again, uninstall ONLY the Conexant smartaudio HD.

Now you basically have no sound drivers on your computer left meaning you need to google and find the Conexant driver that belongs to your computer. BUT the drivers which your need to download HAVE TO BE for a lower windows.

For example: i have a sony vaio with windows 10, i deleted my audio drivers and i reinstalled conexant drivers for windows 7.

This is where i found the conexant drivers for my sony vaio for windows 7.

After you reinstalled drivers for a lower windows, it SHOULD ask you to reboot your pc to apply the changes.
After that reboot, your sound should be fixed.
