Windows 10: Conexant

How can I remanently remove the Conexant audio driver? It phases the sound badly. The Microsoft standard HD driver does a better job. I tried the uninstall through Device Manager; when I next switched on the Microsoft driver had replaced the Conexant and sound was fine. However, after a few minutes the Conexant replaced itself.
I tried again and the Toshiba laptop immediately crashed and wouldn't access Windows 10 after the Windows 10 update to reinstall Conexant. I have a backup and went back to the last restore point.

I tried again using the Toubleshooter. After clicking bad sound twice, it automatically loaded the Microsoft driver. However, the next day Windows 10 now says it wants to update itself and reinstall the Conexant driver.

How can I permanently remove the Conexant driver?

Ideally, I would like a driver that has a line input as well as a mic input. However, I understand this is an unusual and very complicated desire for a typical Windows 10 user, so I will make such recordings on an old Mac (or wait until I am once again with my old XP desktop). For now, I just would very much like to be able to listen to music without it phasing so badly.


In case it helps, this Toshiba worked fine before a Windows 10 update in December, which required a complete reinstall of Windows 10. Any help in being able to listen to music on Toshiba's and Microsoft's computer would be great.

How can I permanently uninstall Conexant SmartAudio HD audio driver

It's not work. I have done this

1. download and run the program you suggested.

Conexant driver is not on the list (select to hide)

2. uninstall Conexant driver

High Definition Audio Device is in used now

3. run program again

Conexant driver still not on the list (select to hide)

4. restart my laptop

High Definition Audio Device still in used.

5. run program again

Conexant driver is on the list (select to hide)

6. Select Conexant and Hide it

Conexant driver is now in hidden list

7. a few minutes later my laptop notify me to restart my laptop to finished setting up Conexant

Conexant driver is now disappear from the hidden list and take over my sound device again.

Conexant driver update for Conexant SmartAudio HD

• Search for Device Manager via Cortana.
• Look for Conexant from the list of devices (should be under Sound, video and game controllers)
• Right click and select properties
• Check the driver version from the Driver tab.

Conexant Smart Audio Windows 10 issue

I suggest you to install the Conexant audio drivers in compatibility mode and check the status of this issue. Refer to the below steps.

Refer the steps to install a driver in compatibility mode:

a. Right click on the setup file of the driver and select
Properties

b. Select Compatibility Tab

c. Place a check mark next to Run this program in Compatibility mode and select the operating system accordingly from the drop down list

d. Let the driver to install and then check the functionality.
