  1. Configure MS Access Driver in ODBC Data Sources to be read only

Without getting too deep in the weeds, I have an MS Access database .accdb and I needed to create a System DNS connection to it in ODBC Data Sources. Did that it works can connect to it and query it, get results all gravy. However, it is kinda demanding to get the first exclusive access and if someone else already has a lock file for the database it say, well now I'm not doing it. And I don't really accept that attitude, I really only the the ODBC connection to it to just read the database, even if someone else is operating it first and created a lock file. Anyone know if/where I can configur

    :)

New data source ODBC driver could not be loaded due to system error 126

    Hello,

I have an error when i want to add User DSN in ODBC data administrator 32 bit after clicking the related driver..

"The setup routines for the CSI RBM 4.02 ODBC Driver ODBC Driver could not be loaded due to system error code 126: The specified module could not be found. (C:\Windows\system32\mt40odbc.dll)."

    1. I have already installed the driver and already listed in drivers tab ODBC Data source administrator 32 bit (only in 32-bit).
    2. The file specified above (C:\Windows\system32\mt40odbc.dll) is already EXIST.
I used windows 64-bit and the driver was 32 bit.

    Gracias

  3. Failed SQL Server ODBC Data Source Test

I'm working on a homework assignment for a beginner database class and I'm very confused. I'm not very good with computers and part of my confusion is that the textbook discusses all the steps based on Windows 7 & older versions of programs, when I have
Windows 10 & Office 2016. I'm not even sure if I have all the programs installed that I need. I think I have my SQL Server set up correctly, but the ODBC Data Source Test always fails. It says:

    Attempting connection

[Microsoft][ODBC Driver 11 for SQL Server]SQL Server Network Interfaces: Error Locating Server/Instance Specified [xFFFFFFFF].

[Microsoft][ODBC Driver 11 for SQL Server]Login timeout expired

[Microsoft][ODBC Driver 11 for SQL Server]A network-related or instance-specific error has occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. Server is not found or not accessible. Check if instance name is correct and if SQL Server is configured to allow
remote connections. For more information see SQL Server Books Online.

    TESTS FAILED!

How do I fix this? What programs am I supposed to have installed to make a SQL server? I'm trying to link it to an Access Database so I can make a web page. Thank you for any help.

  4. Configure MS Access Driver in ODBC Data Sources to be read only

Using NTFS Mount as an ODBC Data Source

We have a Windows 10 Pro PC running on a VM that has a mounted NFTS drive, just using the anon switch to not require credentials. The drive letter is Z and net use shows it as an NFS Network drive mount. We can browse and interact with it just fine in explorer.

However, one of our apps requires a 32-bit ODBC connection to that mounted drive. But I can't get the ODBC connection to set up to save my life. Steps I followed are below:

    1. Open 32-bit ODBC Data Source Administrator

    2. Click Add under User DSN

    3. Select MS Text Driver as the driver

    4. Click finish and add the DSN name

    5. Unclick Use Current Directory checkbox

    6. Click the Select Directory button

    7. The mounted drive is not listed as an option under drives, so I click the Network button

The next couple of steps I've tried two different scenarios:

    8. I select the mounted drive

    9. Under Folder I enter the folder path but the get an error saying that it uses SMB1, which is deprecated (I'm told it does not use SMB1)

8a. I leave the default choice for drive letter

9a. Under Folder I tried entering both [IP_Addr_Redacted]\rd\ups\out and Z:\out. Neither works and I just get a cannot connect error.

Any ideas? This is mission critical and we're at a loss.
