Windows 10: Configure proxy settings

When I connect to the internet through a proxy server, it asks me to enter a username and a password.

I can configure proxy in the web browser and navigate without any problems, but I’d like to know if I can configure the proxy setting in windows to connect all the applications to the internet as well as being able to use Cortana etc.I need it because Windows allows me to put the proxy address but not the username or password

Network and Internet settings. Here are the steps:

• Click Start > Settings > Network & Internet > Proxy.
• Make sure that settings under Automatic proxy setup
  are turned off.

Firefox forgets proxy server

Does anyone know why Firefox discards the proxy settings after each PC restart? I'm on a corporate network which uses a proxy configurations script for external web access, and these setting work fine in IE. In Firefox, however, I need to re-enter these under Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Settings... > Automatic Proxy Configuration URL every time the PC is started.

Bit of a pain really, so does anyone have any suggestions to make it stick?

To set up a proxy server in Windows 10, you may follow the following steps.

• Press the Windows key and I to open
  Settings.
• Click on Network & Internet.
• Under Proxy you can either Automatically set up a proxy or
  Manual set up a proxy server.
