Windows 10: Configure registry key to stop auto discover process for Mail

I want to set up my university mail on Mail for Windows 10 and I was instructed to replace following codeblock


[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\AutoDiscover] "ExcludeExplicitO365Endpoint"=dword:00000001


When I go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft, there is no folder for Office and further. How do I access this?

Error Removing Registry Key?

If it is not causing you any issues i would suggest for you you not alter the Registry.

Altering the Registry in any form of way may cause your Operating System to stop responding and or functioning.

To restore the registry
Open Registry Editor.
Click Options, and then click Print to print these instructions. (If you are using the Help and Support Center, click Print above the topic area.) They will not be available after you shut down your computer in step 2.

Choosing Last Known Good Configuration provides a way to recover from problems such as a newly added driver that may be incorrect for your hardware. It does not solve problems caused by corrupted or missing drivers or files.
When you choose Last Known Good Configuration, Windows restores information in registry key HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet only. Any changes you have made in other registry keys remain.

 

Registry Windows 10 Process

Good day.

I discovered a new process (Registry) in the Wondows 10 process list. This process loads 3 seconds before the System process, but the Registry is a child of the System process.

Questions:

Why does the Registry boot before the System?

What is the purpose of the registry process?

Where can I get information about the process and the proper loading of Windows processes?
