  1. Confusion over approved Windows 11 processor.

My self build Windows 10 PC has an Intel Core i5-6600 processor. When I ran Microsoft's PC Health Checker it said the processor is incompatible with Windows 11. When I checked Microsoft's list of approved processors to see if I could get an approved upgrade I saw the Core i5 -6600 processor on the list. Does anyone know what the story is with this CPU - is it compatible or not?

    :)

  2. Windows 11 not accepting my Athalon 3000G processor which is an approved cpu

I upgraded my motherboard, CPU and memory to meet the requirements based on Windows 11 approved list yet windows 10, PC Health Check and installing manually per Microsoft supports suggestions doesn't recognize my AMD Athlon 3000G processor as an approved CPU. Has Microsoft provided a fix for this yet? Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Windows 11 Approved processor list

    Hi

I was just wondering if anyone knows what the rules are for being on the 'Approved List' of processors to download Windows 11 via Windows Update.

According to Microsoft, the minimum requirements are:

    - 1 Ghz

    - 4GB RAM

    - 2 cores

    - being on approved list of CPUs

    My laptop easily meets this:

    -Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4712HQ CPU 2.30Ghz

    -4 cores

    - 8 logical processors

    - i7-4712HW 2.3ghz

    - 16 GB RAM

    But because

    - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4712HQ CPU 2.30Ghz

isn't on the 'approved list' I can't download it via Windows update. I know there are various registry changes you can make that apparently bypass this check, but is there a real technical reason for excluding some Intel Core i7 processors or is it a bug? I can't see why my laptop can't run Windows 11?!!

    Thanks

    Pete

    Win11 Pro approved processor list

My Computer is less than 1 year old with an AMD processor that meets the performance requirements for Win 11 but my processor (AMD Pro A10-9700 R7 is not listed in your approved list. When will Microsoft include my processor on the approved list for upgrading from Win 10 Pro to Win 11 Pro ?
