    conhost.exe connecting to unknown IPs


    HelloNot sure this is a malware or expected behaviour, so I ask your help.My firewall Comodo alerts the conhost,.exe process is trying to connect to apparently random IPs today it was 192.229.221.95.I ran a malware + AV scan but no results.Would anybody be able to confirm it this is a normal behaviour?Thank youStefano

    What is Conhost.exe? Is it a virus? Does it consume High CPU?

    Hi,

    With regard to your query, we suggest that you try resetting the TCP/IP by using the steps below:

    • Press Windows + X keys.
    • Click on Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Type the command below:

      netsh int ip reset
    • Hit Enter to execute the command.
    • Reboot the PC for the changes to take effect.

    To better assist you, what are the troubleshooting steps have you done so far? Have you tried
    resetting and re-configuring
    your
    TCP/IP Settings? If not, we suggest that you do so. Kindly perform these
    methods of troubleshooting and check if Cortana can connect to the internet after performing these methods:

    Method 1: Reset TCP/IP

    To do this, follow these steps:


    • Run
      Command Prompt
      as
      Administrator.

    • Run
      this command:

      • netsh int ip reset
        and hit
        Enter.

    Exit
    Command Prompt
    and
    monitor your Network Connection.

    Method 2:
    Reconfigure TCP/IP

    To do this, follow these steps:


    • Run
      Command Prompt
      as
      Administrator.

    • Run
      these following commands:

      • netsh int tcp set heuristics
        disabled

      • netsh int tcp
        set global autotuninglevel=disabled

      • netsh int tcp set global
        rss=enabled
