Windows 10: Connect canon printer in s mode

I have recently bought a lenovo idea pad 1 laptop which is by default using s mode. I don't seem to be able to connect this to my canon pixma mg4250 printer. Is this not possible in S mode?

I bought a new Canon ImageClass printer and since my HP laptop does not have a DVD port, I went to the Canon website to download the printer driver and was alerted by my computer that it was not from their store and so I could not download it without getting rid of the s mode. So I go to the store and download the Canon Utilities app they had and then entered the printer I needed drivers for, and it took me TO THE EXACT SAME CANON WEBPAGE I had just been on!!!! Oh well, I download the drivers AGAIN, but STILL ended up with the exact same message. So I got rid of the s mode because I need to be able to print! The printer specifically said NOT to connect the USB cable before installing the software, but I am wondering if I had connected the USB cable would my computer been able to detect the new printer and get it to operate?

I think you are missing the point. All of us are trying to find a solution without removing S mode. For example, I have a Canon MX490. When I try to set it up, it only sets up and works as a scanner but unavailable as a printer. It does not come up on the printer list but it clearly recognizes the Canon MX490 as a scanner. I am aware of the download from the Canon website as I have done this before. What is Microsoft S mode team doing to help us with this situation? If removing S mode is the answer, then why waste time buying this product? I bought this laptop because of the S Mode feature. Now I'm being told I can't use it. Sorry as stated there is almost zero information on S mode and its pitfalls that well outweigh the benefits. I would love to see more information on S mode and how to navigate it.

This product is not compatible with the operating system selected and no drivers will be made available. Please consider upgrading either your product or operating system to a model or version that is supported.

Also, I suggest you to ensure to have the latest version of the printer software installed on your PC .

Please follow these steps below, to resolve the issue:

Step 1: I suggest you to download the Windows 8.1 printer driver from the below canon website and then try to install the printer driver in compatibility mode.

Step 2: I would suggest you to try to install the driver in compatibility mode.

1. Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘Properties’.

2. Click on the ‘Compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8/8.1 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the
issue persists.
