Windows 10: connect to Acer monitor but clicked "uninstall device" before.

I have try multiple ways. Please send some help.

Device Manager/Dual monitors in Windows 10

I have an HP laptop with resolution 1920x1080. When I connect a 24" Acer monitor via HDMI cable and set the same resolution the picture extends way outside the physical boundaries of the monitor, meaning I can't close full size windows. However the Acer
is not listed under Monitors in Device Manager - all that is there is "Generic PnP Monitor". I have updates these drivers but it makes no difference. Why is the Acer not listed, so that I can install the genuine Acer driver? (The Acer does list in Device
Manager if I connect to a Windows 8 laptop, sop why not in Windows 10?)

Help would be greatly appreciated

Acer P191W Monitor Driver

You could try switching to the generic monitor driver:

In the Device Manager right-click the monitor > Update Driver Software > Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer > then select "Generic PnP monitor" > Next and continue with the installation.

Acer does have monitor .inf files but they are usually not necessary.

To better understand your query, kindly reply to the following questions.

1. Did you try setting up the cables again?

2. Did you try giving the recommended resolution and check if the monitor is detected?

I would suggest you to make sure that the monitors are connected to the correct video port.

However, you can go to the device manager and disable the monitor which is not working.

Follow the steps below.

• Press Windows key + X key and click on
  Device Manager.
• Expand the Monitors.
• Right-click on the monitor and select Disable.
• After sometime, try re-enabling it and check if the device gets detected.
