  1. "Connect to Wireless Display" no longer working and tried to fix but still not working

My laptop was always able to discover my TV, so I can project my laptop onto the TV screen. Recently the option to “Connect to Wireless display” is no longer there in Settings>Systems>Display.

I followed directions on another page to check my adaptors. No yellow marks next to the wireless wifi adaptors in the hidden view under Network Devices but they were not as bold. I checked for updates and scanned for hardware changes. I am up to date and no change. When I checked the properties, the adaptors are not connected. So I followed the directions to connect them and when I got to the right click to choose enable, that choice did not appear.

I also tried deleting the many lists of my TV on my devices page but when I tried to add it again, it would not find the TV. I know the TV is on Wifi as I am streaming TV.

Then I went to my Dell updates and updated the drivers. Well, then I could find the “Connect to Wireless display” again. But when I shut off the laptop overnight and came back this morning it’s gone again. I tried adding new drivers again and rebooted. Still gone.

Any other ideas? I'm not sure why this stopped working. I was always able to connect easily to my TV for months. I have Windows 10. Getting ready to call Geek Squad but thought I’d try here first.

    :)

  2. Wireless connection no longer working

The wireless connection to my laptop is no longer working. I went to "network settings" followed by "wireless network connection" and the switch is turned to "off" and cannot be changed to "on". I went to "manage wifi and everything is turned on or checked. Under "known networks" mine is not listed. I rebooted the router, the wifi and the computer but nothing changed. Wireless is running normally to the rest of my computers.

Does the wifi hardware in your PC show any errors in device manager?

Issue with connecting Dual monitor with Wireless Display Adapter

    Hi Penny Wells,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I can understand the situation must be difficult for you when things do not work as they should. However, we would need some more information regarding the issue.

    1. What is the make and model of the computer?
    2. What is the model of the TV?

This issue can occur if there is pending firmware update or the issue with the drivers. I would suggest you to follow the below steps and let us know about the results:

Method 1: Fix connections to wireless displays or docks.

I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned in the Microsoft article on
Fix connections to wireless displays or docks.

Method 2: Troubleshooting Wireless Display Adapters.

If method 1 doesn’t fix the issue, I would suggest you to follow all the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the Microsoft article on
    Troubleshooting Wireless
    Display Adapters
refer the steps ‘Having trouble connecting your device to the adapter?’

Note: The above article contains steps regarding Firmware update.
Modifying BIOS settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS
settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.

If you would like me to provide additional advice, simply respond to this thread. I will get notified and I’ll reply to you as soon as I can.

    Hope it helps.
