Windows 10: Connected and disconnected a second monitor with a significantly smaller resolution and now...

The main monitor: 3840x2160The second monitor I connected: 1440x900I have no idea how to fix this, I've tried with changing the regedit settings but it didn't work. Tried changing scaling, resolution, icon size but nothing worked. Please help because I can only place 10 icons on my desktop.

Second monitor screen resolution problem

Second monitor, wrong resolution

for a while, I've been using a Dell E248WFPb (native 1920x1200) connected via VGA on my Dell Optiplex 7040 Micro successfully at it's native resolution. But I just moved the computer to another room, and now that same monitor is a second monitor to a Samsung 2343 (native 2048x1152) connected via DVI to HDMI adapter. The Samsung monitor runs great, native resolution and everything. But the Dell E248WFPb which is now a second monitor, I can't get to go to native resolution. Help!

• Does the monitor on the laptop work if you disconnect the other monitor?
• Is the second monitor connected to the laptop using a DVI, HDMI, or DisplayPort cable?
