Windows 10: Connected with Ethernet, but nothing works

As stated in the title, I'm connected to the internet via Ethernet which my computer is recognizing as connected to the internet. I’ve tested my ping and no packets lost, tested all the wires, disabled my firewalls, ran a diagnostic which came back perfect, but still can not connect to anything. I load up chrome it loads the google screen but nothing beyond that. Discord and steam won’t even launch along with anything else that needs internet. Also called my provider and it shows my pc hooked up to Ethernet and everything else with Wi-Fi in the house is currently working. I don’t know what els

My reliable ethernet connection no longer works

To better understand the query, please answer the following questions:

• After restarting is your computer in normal mode or not?
• Are you getting any error message?

I suggest you to reset the modem\ router and check if the Ethernet connection works or not.

If still the issue persist then I suggest you to follow the steps from the below article

Ethernet shows red X and does not appear in settings, but still works


Not sure why this is happening. I have working ethernet and am connected, it works fine. But the taskbar icon shows a red X over it, and the tooltip says "Not Connected - No connections are available". Looking in "Network & Internet", ethernet is not even listed there. And before anyone suggests wireless interference .. this PC does not have a wireless card or integrated wireless.
