Windows 10: Connecting second display with laptop in windows 10

case happened with me

"for fist time i connected my monitor with my laptop through VGA cable and it was working correctly.

After that i made some setting on desktop in "graphics option" by left clicking on desktop. By doing that my laptop screen shows black screen and on the monitor screen shows "cannot display this video mode".Now without connecting the vga cable of monitor the option is not available from where i made this change and when i insert the vga cable it scrren converts to black screen and the monitor screen shows "cannot display this video mode"

this is the problum.

please help me i have to connect the a monitor with my laptop.

Laptop display does not detect itself

• Go to Settings.
• Click on System.
• Under System, choose Display.
• Under Multiple displays, click on Duplicate these displays and apply.

How do you know its the display that's bad?

Just google "how to change display on a acer 5745"

Should get you to step by step instructions. But first make sure its the display that's bad

• How exactly is your laptop connected to LG TV?
• Is it through HDMI cable?

Firstly I would suggest you to update the display drivers and then try to set up multiple monitors.

Follow the below steps to update the Graphics card drivers and check if it helps:

• Click on 'Start' and type 'Device Manager' in the start search box and press enter.
• Click on the “Display adapters” to expand the list.
• Right-click on drivers and update it.
• If there are no update available, then go ahead and reinstall the driver by clicking on 'Uninstall'.
• Restart the PC
