  1. Connecting to 5ghz Network

So, I recently gota new router and one of features of the router is the ability to have a 2.4ghz band and a 5ghz band on the same SSID. The reason that this feature was appealing to me was because I just want everything connected to a single network for using devices like SONOS speakers.

However, I am having a bit of trouble connectiing to the 5Ghz channel on my Windows 10 PC. Whenever I connect to the network, I am only able to get a 2.4ghz signal. Is there any way to manually select whihc band I connect to? Thanks

    Can't connect to 5GHz network

Hi! I upgraded to Windows 10 yesterday. I had Windows 7 previously, and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz worked perfectly. Now that I have upgraded, I can't connect to my 5GHz network. Some rare times, I can connect to my 5GHz network, but it would be unidentified
and I wouldn't get internet access. I have uninstalled the network card driver, updated it, done a network reset (Windows settings), all my network settings are default and I have removed the power cable from my modem and router for at least 30 minutes. Yesterday
I couldn't access any Microsoft/Xbox login pages, but that is fixed today. How can I fix this problem?

Can't connect to 2.4ghz band, 5ghz keeps disconnecting

Thank you for the suggestion. That repair does seem to have fixed the problem I was having with the 5ghz network (although it's tough to tell if that's completely fixed until something goes wrong), but I still get the "Can't connect to this network" error
when trying to connect to the 2.4ghz band. I'm going to go back through a few of the troubleshooting steps and will update this thread once I do.
