Windows 10: Connecting to a Networked PC - The password of this user has expired. Error Microsoft Account

Hi, I cannot connect to a shared folder on my other computer because I get the error "The password of this user has expired.".This is using Microsoft accounts, not local.Anyone got any ideas, tips or fixes?Thanks,Hugo

Connecting to Network - Password Expired (Microsoft Account)

I am having an issue connecting to a computer on my Network. PC 1 can access PC 2. PC 2 cannot access PC 1.

On both PCs, I am using the same Microsoft account (not local). I am an administrator on both PCs.

I am getting an error "password has expired" when I try to login to PC 1 from PC 2, but not the other way around, and even though it is an Outlook account.

I am using Windows 10 on both PCs. Both are on the same home network, although one is connected through wifi and one on ethernet.

I also use 2 factor for my microsoft account, if that makes a difference.

I am not sure you understood my issue. I did try to restart into safe mode (with networking, obviously, given my issue) and not surprisingly I could do nothing to resolve the issue.

Again, my issue is with credentials when I try to connect to another computer in my network using my Microsoft account, as that is the account I use for both PCs to sign in. It says my password has expired when I do this.

I will add one more bit of information to my original post, and that is that I can sign into a different account on the same computer without any problem (this does not really help me, however, as I need to access documents only accessible with my account)

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.
