Windows 10: Connection to network failed after Windows 10 update

Internet was working okay. Windows 10 updated. Now no internet connection. The network adapters all say they are working properly. I have downloaded the latest driver using another Computer but this has not solved the problem.

Looking in the 'Events' tab there is a message:

Please note I cannot print the other slash key to '/' as I am using a UK set up on a US keyboard. I will use '#' in its place.

Message: PCI

#VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&SUBSYS_05921025&REV_06#4&edb6346&0&00AA requires further installation.


How do I proceed?

Windows 10 fails to update


When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

 

Windows Updates failed to instal

I just did step one and they have just all installed.... thank you so much.... it was quite frustrating having that update window pop up every 5 minutes and failing to instal every time
