Windows 10: Connection Windows 10 Pro release 1803 to MS SBS 2011

It is beyond frustrating to connect a brand new up to date laptop to MS SBS 2011! The laptop was added to the active directory of the server successfully but when setting up the user via the launcher app (or through the connect web page tried through both IE and Edge) it brings up the correct users from the server allows me to select the user I want to the laptop but after it says I have successfully selected the information and that this user will be presented at the next login after restart it fails on the second step of network connection. (There was a warning stating that Windows 8 users cannot move existing users data and settings prior to this). It tells me I've provided all the information necessary and that it will be implemented after the next reboot but after I click restart it goes through "Creating temporary data" which passes but then fails on "Connecting to the network" which of course is a crock because I wouldn't have been able to do any of the other things had I not already been connected to the network.


I have no idea WHY MS would have removed the ability to type in domain\username as the account you want to log into and have it just create the desktop profile as part of the first login as you were able to for years previous to this!!


Don't bother telling me to upgrade the server to a later release because I will be going out and buying Windows 7 refurbished machines long before I suggest to my client that they spend money on something they will get zero benefit from over and above the functionality of their existing server.

Windows 10 Pro client on SBS 2011?

It should work, since it supports as far back Windows Server 2003 domains.

Windows 10 & Quickbooks Pro 2011

I would like to inform you that Quickbook Pro 2011 is not compatible with Windows 10. Therefore it is needed to install in compatibility mode.

Hence,I suggest you to reinstall the Quickbooks pro 2011 in the compatibility mode and check if it helps,

Please follow the steps below for more information:

• Right click on the setup file of the application and select
  Properties.
• Select Compatibility Tab.
• Place a check mark next to Run this program in Compatibility mode and select the
  operating system accordingly from the drop down list.
• Click OK and run the setup.
