    Consistent BSOD when extracting a large file


    Hi, This problem has been bugging me for a while now. Whenever a large file is being extracted, the PC freezes and then sometimes just restarts without BSOD and sometimes it does. This happens when I try to update the game, it has a large .zip file that needs to be extracted first to update the game.This is always happening when the game unzips the update files, it randomly freezes the PC when unzipping and then BSOD and/or restart the PC. I tried redownloading the update files thinking that it might be corrupt but it is still happening, Freeze>BSOD/restart.The stop error code says: CRITICA

    Extracting Zip Files


    Are the step-by-step processes identical? That is, the folder extracted from and the folder extracted to belong to the same hierarchical file system structure. If they are, that suggests mildly the Cumulative Update left an electron or two out of place.

    Thanks pyramid10 for your contribution, I ensured that the steps taken and the source and destination folders were the same, in the using zip7 as suggested by BunnyJ resolved all issues for me.
    I am the first to admit that I am a long long way from understanding the intricacies of computers and if truth be told I am now to old anyway to absorb much information.

    Dear All,

    Initially I felt very relieved that there is a quick solution to this problem. I have done all step by step according to your suggestion to switch the graphic processor. Nevertheless the BSOD continues to appear when I try to run Photoshop CC2015. *cry*cry*cry

    I have extracted the required information from my system in the attached file. I would be very glad if somebody can assist with this. Thanks in advance Consistent BSOD when extracting a large file :)
