  1. Consistent FPS drops and spikes

For the last 4 days or so my FPS has been acting strange. In any game I’m playing it’ll significantly drop until all of a sudden it shoots back up. Can’t figure out what’s causing this, I’m hoping my gpu isn’t dying because I’ve never had an issue like this before.

    I’ve tried:

~ uninstalled drivers using DDU (twice) and reinstalled the newest and then previous version because the newest driver didn’t help

~ made sure it wasn’t just my game settings or some power saving options causing issue

~ restored windows to a previous point because I thought maybe an update I recently installed was being weird

~ checked Afterburner, but I’m not quite sure how to identify a problem by using it.

~ set Nvidia control panel texture filtering and power management settings to maximum performance

    ~cleared prefetch and temp files

~got fed up and did a factory reset

At this point it has to be a hardware issue, but I don’t want to accept it as one because I don’t have the money to replace a component. Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated

Massive FPS Lag And GPU Spikes

I've recently noticed that when running games like Minecraft and League of Legends, the FPS stutters and drops suddenly. This problem only started a few weeks ago - before that it ran fine. I usually average around 90FPS in Minecraft and 70FPS in League, but during the spikes it drops to 5-10FPS. The spikes used to only occur every few seconds and went away after a while, but now they're frequent and make trying to play near impossible.

I opened up Task Manager when running Minecraft, and the GPU constantly spikes from around 30% to up to 90%, causing the drops. Most of the GPU usage is from Java running, and the spikes are from it as well. Running on Windows 10, I already have Optifine installed on Minecraft. The problem only occurs in fullscreen.

    Things I've already tried:

    • Uninstall and reinstall graphics drivers
    • Cleaned out junk files
    • Uninstall and reinstall games
    • Close background programs, end tasks in Task Manager
    • Ran multiple antivirus scans using AVG, MalwareBytes and Adaware(no problems found)

    Sudden FPS drop/Stutter

Since 2 days ago, I just turned on my Computer, and it starting having issues while I was playing Witcher 3 (starts with decent fpsm and then very low fps, dropping to 35, then 20, and stopping at 12 or so, in a matter of seconds, in a matter of 1min of starting the game), also stuttering without any high demanding programs, randomly. I was playing at 45-60 fps, without any stutters or sudden fps drop. Have tried other games the issue persists. Even setup everything to low settings.
I have ran several tests with several tools, all seems normal, no sudden memory spikes, or temperature raising out of the ordinary, nothing that would indicate such an fps drop or stuttering.

    MSI Afterburner

I also did the reset option on Windows10, completly cleaned out all my personal info from the windows partition.
So at this point, I am not sure if it is a software issue or a hardware issue.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Edit: I kept doing some tests to find out the issue. And this happened before and I was able to replicate it. Same thing happened as before, till I set it up to fullscreen, Alt+Tab from the game and then back to the game, FPS went up to 50 again, stable and good, dropped after a couple of seconds. After a bit it went to 2-5 fps, and I had to shutdown the game, because even the sound was getting messed up.

    MSI Afterburner 2

In this image those ups and downs in the GPU usage are when the fps dropped really hard and the sound got messed up.

    Consistent FPS drops and spikes

Consistent FPS drops in games every 25sec

when i play my videogames for some reason my fps drop a lot from 180 to like 30 fps, and it stays in the 30 fps for like 10 sec every 25 sec . I dont really know the reason why but i think is because of my CPU . i have noticed when my fps drop in my task
manager the percentage of cpu usage in fortnite goes down from 70% to 30% wich causes my fps to drop a lot .

    I have a gtx 1060 3gb , amd fx 6300, 8gb of ram , windows 10 version 1803.

Please help i dont know what to do.
