Windows 10: Constant 100% Disk usage when PC is idle normal usage when I'm using the PC

    Constant 100% Disk usage when PC is idle normal usage when I'm using the PC


    Every time I leave my PC on for several minutes without running any programs disk usage jumps to 100% with minimal 0-3% usage of the CPU and GPU whenever I open something like chrome or other program disk usage falls down back to normal levels.Checked in the Resource Monitor and it seems System is the process the is causing it.I have looked only for possible solutions and have been suggested disabling Windows Search and Superfetch Service but the issue still persists did a virus scan and it came out clean.

    Constant 100% Disk Usage, 60-80% CPU usage. Both happen when idle.

    Could you also provide a snapshot of Resource Monitor with selected Disk Activity Tab and checked only System:

    i would also suggest running checkdisk and sfc /scannow

    100% DISK USAGE

    in safe mode, there was still lag and the memory usage in taskbar showed a constant 27%.in normal mode,the memory usage is around 50% constant and disk 100%.

    My brand new PC is slowed to a crawl by a constant 100% disk usage. Out of the box.
