Windows 10: Constant and large lag spikes on my Windows 10 PC.

I've been having massive lag spikes ever since our router got unplugged and plugged back in, about 2 weeks ago. Or they could just be more noticeable. Anyways, I have a pretty good gaming pc that didn't lag until the said situation occurred. I don't think it's my WIFI, because we got a new router due to issues with the old one. No websites online tell me any useful information on how to solve this. These lag spikes affect my whole PC, as I've noticed that when I lag in a game, my ping in the voice chat spikes too. Anyone know what's going on?

Constant lag spikes

Hello, for the past 2 weeks or so I have been experiencing lag spikes that occur every 10-20 seconds. I am at a resting ping of about 45, but these lag spikes can range from 200-500 and last about a second. While these are manageable, they can also be
very frustrating while playing games (which is the only time they happen, or at least when the spikes are most noticeable). I play games on both xbox and PC, but I do not experience these lag spikes on xbox while playing, so that has led me to believe that
this is a windows issue rather than an internet issue. At first I thought it would be something that would just go away after a view days if it was an internet issue, but since it has been happening for a few weeks now I thought it would be a good time to
reach out. I have done a lot of research about this, and while many people have posted "solutions" none of them have seemed to work. Please help! Thank you!

 

Constant Widnows 10 lag spikes in games?

Thanks for the tip - this fixed it for me.

Tried all the other popular suggestions to no avail. Disabling location service eliminated the lag spikes during MWO and HoTS matches. I won't have to waste my time to revert back to Windows 8.1.

 

Lag spike problem

Please try these steps and check after each step. If these don't work, let me know. I will provide further troubleshooting steps.

1. Windows Key+i > Privacy > Location > Make location service to OFF.

2. Windows Key+X > Device Manager > View Show Hidden Device > Network Adapters > Right click on Microsoft Kernel Debug Network Adapter > Disable
