Constant BSODs with Ryzen and Windows 10 Creators [SOLVED]

I built this system a month ago, and I get one or more BSOD's a day. I have had four Microsoft remote ins to help, but nothing. Yesterday I was caught in an endless boot loop of BSODs forcing me to re-install Windows. It seemed like things were fine, then I started playing Civilization V in Steam (It was stable on my old system with the same o/s). Boom, a new BSOD (0x00000139 Kernel Security Check Failure).

    System stats:
    AMD Ryzen 7 1700
    Gigabyte AX370 Gaming K7 AM4 board
    G.Skill Flare x DDR4 2400 ram 32gb.
ASUS GTX 1060 card with 6 gb of ram on board
    stock cooler.
    Windows Version 1703 Build 15063.413

It is really annoying since none of the BSODs are the same. I am beginning to think this computer is cursed. I built for stability, no overclocks, only approved parts, I have run every test I can think to run, except Verifier which stuck me in the endless loop.DESKTOP-V8L96QB-Sun_07_02_2017_142131_58.zip I am at my wits end, and so is that of my wife, who is pissed that I am taking so much time away from her to "play on the computer". I have run DDU and updated the drivers before Winders died the last time. I have not done so this time. I have NOT installed any of the Gigabyte drivers at all this go round. Help please!!!

  2. Constant BSOD on Windows 10 Ryzen Build

    Hi,

For us to find out what causes your computer to get a blue screen error, we would like to know more information:

    • Can you send us a screenshot of the error message?
    • What is the current build and version of your Windows 10? (Press Windows
key + R and type "winver" to know the build and version of your operating system. )
    • When did you start experiencing this issue?

    Regards.

Constant BSOD on Windows 10 Ryzen Build

I keep getting a BSOD everyday, even if my computer is really not even doing anything. I will be gone from home and come back to see my computer has been restarted. It will BSOD while just watching a movie
or just doing some web browsing. Problem is getting quite old and annoying. Have ran memtest for 14 hours will all of it passing. I am thinking it might be gpu memory causing them problem? I reinstalled windows thinking it might have been an old driver issue
since my other am4 motherboard randomly bricked overnight and still had those old drivers on there. But since then got a BSOD even still. The one BSOD I saw was a irql not less or equal error code was not home or in the room at the time of the others. Absolutely
cannot set my ram to 3200 either, when I do it tries to post 6 times before it actually starts up and not sure really what that is about either so it is just set to auto for now. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Also had a problem before where a pink bar would show up on my screen during boot but do not have this problem any more? Which also leads me to believe something is going on with the gpu perhaps.

Build: CPU: Ryzen 1700 Ram: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 3200 14CL GPU: Asus ROG Strix gtx 1070 Motherboard: Asrock x370 Fatality Professional Gaming PSU: SeaSonic 650W X650 SS-650KM3 SSD: Samsung 960 500gb Nothing
    overclocked
BIOS 3.10 (newest version) All drivers to most recent updates

Also for some reason windows button no longer works as of today 10/18/2017 not quite sure what that is about. Computer also just restarts after switching to administrator account only have tried that once though.

    nvlddmkm.sys
nvlddmkm.sys nVidia Video drivers Download Drivers | NVIDIA
    Get from OEM for laptops

Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:

    1) winver (in the pop up about windows > view your windows version and build > type this information into the thread)

    2) sfc /scannow

    3) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

    4) chkdsk /scan

When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on copy > paste into the thread

    5) Uninstall all Nvidia drivers/softwareThe best way to do this is to uninstall everything of Nvidia using Display Driver Uninstaller and install new drivers from your Graphics card manufacturer or from the NVidia website.
When you do this be sure the "clean install" box is checked and only install the Graphics driver and the PhysX driver.
Display Driver Uninstaller Download version 17.0.6.7: Official Display Driver Uninstaller DDU Download

    6) perform windows updates and post any Failed KB# with error code into the thread.

Ok, did all those things, and installed the latest Nvidia drivers dated 6-29-17. I played some Civilization V, and it seemed ok, but these crashes are totally random, and have no rhyme or reason when they are going to occur. They seem to be video card related since I am usually doing something like watching YouTube, or gaming, or something that involves video. But.... my skill set is out of date when it comes to diagnosing these things. I appreciate the quick reply more than you can know..

Your welcome. Let's keep the link open for a week with you using the computer under typical use. If you have no more bsod then we will have fixed the current misbehaving driver. If there is a recurrence we will debugg the minidump file.

Ok, sounds good, I will have my daughter play some Ghost Recon, and Tomb raider to see what happens. The crashes are so random, I have no clue as to what is the real issue here, but I was starting to despise this computer....

Total system death. Playing a game, and it locked up and I had to do a reset. Then I get no boot drive found. I cleared the CMOS, and loaded optimized defaults and now I am up and running. I unplugged all the other drives to do this. I noticed the games keep crashing, and my thermal monitor crashed for an unknown reason. Things had been really stable up to that point. I am not understanding why clearing the CMOS and then loading optimized defaults reset things?

There is no reason in the event log for the shutdown. I managed to get back up, I am going to re-install all my drives now, and re-boot. I am so disgusted with this computer, I am having trouble speaking about it. My wife wants me to take all the parts back to NewEgg and just use my linux laptop since it works all the time. I am resistant to this.

I had to do that the other day, this is the current clean installation. I got locked into an endless BSOD boot loop the other day, and it was what caused me to come here. The current issue today was just weird. Clearing the CMOS and loading optimized defaults seemed to have stabilized it for now. I am playing a game on Steam just to check (Civilization Beyond Earth) which caused the issue earlier (I think...). Sorry to be such a pain, but I have never had issues like this with any windows build since Windows 95.
