Windows 10: Constant disconnect alerts & 'A toolbar is already hidden...'

My only hope was that this would solve my problem. Unfortunately, it did not. And I'm not the only one. Users have been experiencing the same problem or at least, with the toolbar with W10 and W11.Come on, Microsoft, how hard can this be!?

Thank you for your suggestions. I have several programs running when the monitor is turned off: Thunderbird, Firefox, Firefox Portable, Pale Moon, Forté Agent, (FreeCommander, AIMP, System Explorer, all minimized to taskbar). Bringing them to the foreground doesn't seem to help. I'm still getting the 'taskbar already hidden' error and the annoying alert sounds.

Canceling the hiding function isn't an option for me, neither is turning off the alert sounds. These are not solutions, only workarounds. I didn't have these problems in Windows 7, so why do I have them now in Windows 11?

I have two problems: every time my display is turned off (automatically) I get these constant connect/disconnect alerts until the computer is put to sleep. When I turn the display back on I get this error:





and the icons on my Desktop are rearranged. The setting to automatically hide the taskbar is unchecked as well, so I have check it each time my display is turned off. Very frustrating...

I only have one monitor (ASUS VS247HR; Device Manager > Monitors says: Generic PnP Monitor) and it's connected through HDMI. Graphics: Intel UHD Graphics 770. I've searched and searched and came across others with the same problem, but never a solution. Anyone who can help me solve these problems? (Turning off the (dis)connect sounds is not a solution; it's a workaround that I don't want to use.) Much appreciated!

 

Emergency Alerts

Just to confirm, is this the same thing that you tried on your phone, in order to turn off Amber Alerts?

• Open Settings.
• Tap on System.
• Tap on Messaging.
• Tap on the Change emergency alert settings link.
• Turn on or off the emergency alerts you want.

Let us know if this was the same thing that you tried.

We would also suggest to reset your phone after doing these steps to ensure that the changes on your phone's settings will be refreshed.

Simply press and hold the Power and Volume down button for 15 seconds and then release your hold afterwards.
