Windows 10: constant erros when installing designjet 130nr drivers on windows11

well, windows support just passed me to the forum without even trying to help with the issue, so here is my question. I am trying to install my new to me designjet 130nr printer drivers. The printer is new in box and I have the driver disk and it is USB connected directly to my computer. I have tried installing the drivers from the disk, but an error message keeps popping up saying that "the program has encountered a severe error and will shut down. No changes have been made to your computer. restart your computer and try setup again" then it shuts down and closes the wizard. restarting t

Update KB4560960 destroys HP DesignJet 130nr print server

Hi,

Not so much a question, more a report.

Each time I tried sending a file to my network connected HP DesignJet 130nr wide format printer the file would appear briefly in the queue and then disappear. No such problems with network connected FujiXerox C2255.

I have spent about 10 hours trying all the usual stuff: load, unload; connect disconnect etc.

The solution is to uninstall update KB4560960.

I have tried to contact MS to report this but the wall is so opaque I have been unable to do so. So I am reporting it here.

Needless to say I am not happy customer.

To get DVD player to work, you have to install the DVD drivers from the manufacturer website.

If the drive is not showing up in the Device Manager try the following:

• Press Windows key + X and select Command Prompt (Admin)
• Then, at the command prompt type the following ( you can copy and paste) and press "Enter":
• reg.exe add "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Controller0" /f /v EnumDevice1 /t REG_DWORD /d 0x00000001
• Restart the computer.
