  1. Constant need to restart Windows Explorer to keep taskbar hidden.

As the title says, I have my taskbar set to hide automatically, but after the last 2 updates, it just stops hiding constantly and I'm constantly having to restart windows explorer to get it to function and hide correctly. it used to happen once or twice every few weeks, but now it happens every 5-10 minutes. I also run 2 displays and sometimes it will auto hide on 1 display, but remain open on the other. this has become a very persistent and very annoying issue. This is a fresh 6 month old completely custom build Running a ryzen 7 5700x, in an MSI b550 Mortar max MB, 32 gb of gskill ram, os on

    :)

  2. Constant need to restart Windows Explorer to keep taskbar popping up in front of other windows . . .

RolanSW? - That's the thread listed above.

In reading from it, I see he discusses Taskbars not working.

But you see, my taskbar is working, and working well.

My concern is that, on occasion the task bar fails to pop-up in front of existing windows.

The taskbar has done this all along. And can go days (if not weeks) between having to restart Windows Explorer.

But just like rolling dice, it seems I had to restart Windows Explorer several times in one day and a even a few times the following day. But have come to suspect that nothing new has happened. It was just a statistical fluke that prompted me to initiate
    this posting.

I have a constant need to restart Windows Explorer to keep taskbar popping up in front of other windows.

I have to restart Windows Explorer every few days in order to restore proper behavior of the taskbar.

    Why?

What known conditions are responsible for bringing about this undesirable Windows Explorer behavior?

Is there any action that can be undertaken by myself to alleviate the need to constantly restart Windows Explorer?

    taskbar tranparency

    Hi Dan,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused. I will surely assist you with this.

I would suggest you to change the desktop themes and check if you are able to see the transparent taskbar.

If that doesn't help I would suggest you to end the explorer.exe and restart it and see if you are able to see the transparent taskbar.

Please follow the steps below to restart explorer.exe:

    stop and start Explorer.exe

      • Right click on the taskbar and select task manager.

      • In the process Right click on windows explorer and end the task

      • Restart the task by clicking on the file and select new task

      • Type Explorer.exe and press enter.
    And see if it helps.

Do let us know the result. We will be glad to help if you need further assistance.
