  1. Constant OS Crashing/Hardware Failure in Windows Reliability?

    Hello all,

My PC has been crashing a lot lately, and I am not sure why. In the Reliability Monitor, I took a look and found a lot of hardware errors. Unfortunately, it does not tell me the specific part that failed. Which is what I am hoping you folks can find out for me.

    Show off your system reliability

My reliability failures only list cases when I was testing a new overclock and apps or system crashed during the testing. Other than that, no incidents.

    all games crash!

    I suggest you run rthdribl > http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archives/rthdribl_1_2.zip
Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
    What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

    Crashed system/ system failure

    Hi Joana!

    Welcome to our community.

This is Leocadia, independent community expert, and I am glad to assist you today.

Sorry to hear about this situation. We would like to help you promptly.

Did you get any error message or a blue screen?

Here are the solutions that have helped people resolved the crashing issues. You shouldn’t have to try them all; just work your way down the list until everything’s working again.

    1.Disconnect external devices

2.Turn off Link State Power Management

    3.Run System File Checker

    4.Update available drivers

    5. Check malware and virus

    6. Disable fast startup

    7. Restore to previous state

Here it goes the link with the instructions for each of these troubleshotings.

Alternatively, you can find out why your PC crashed using built-in Tools on Windows.

    Just follow the steps below:

Type Reliability into the Cortana search bar and click the first result. It should be a shortcut for View reliability history, a control panel option.

    reliability-copy

If Windows crashed or froze, you’ll see a red X that represents the timeframe of the failure. Yellow icons signify more of a warning, a non-critical event. Click the icon to see what happened.

At the bottom, you’ll see a list with the source of the failure. Click View technical details to find out more information about the issue. Alternatively, you can weed through all recent failures and near-misses by clicking the View all problem reports link
    at the bottom.

From here, you’ll see the error that caused the failure, as well as the file involved. Some problems may even include a fix, or an additional option to troubleshoot the issue, although these are typically only for problems related to some (but not all) driver
    issues.

Click OK to close the window and return to the list of errors.
