Windows 10: Constant pop ups while in Microsoft Word and new tabs opening when online using Chrome

Constant pop ups while in Microsoft Word and when on the internet using Chrome, a new tab opens with the same wording.


Sorry, we can't open 'http://exts.on-service.app/p/mnt/g.html'


This has been going on for months and I have zero productivity due to these constant interruptions. Help!


Norton doesn't see it, I have done everything known to man after researching this issue with no resolution.

Pop up blocker

Hi,

Pop-up blocker helps user to prevent pop-ups from displaying in a user's Web browser.

Follow these steps to block pop-ups in Internet Explorer:

• Open Internet Explorer.
• Open the gear icon at the upper right of the Internet Explorer.
• Select Internet Options.
• Under Privacy tab, put a check mark on Turn on Pop-up Blocker.
• Click OK.

Follow these steps to block pop-ups in Microsoft Edge:

• Open Microsoft Edge.
• Open More (icon with three dots) and select Settings.
  
• Click View advanced settings.
• Turn Block pop-ups to On.

microsoft word 2003

I have a lot of ms word files on my pc. But one of them showed me an error - Getting unknown error messages while opening (.doc) or (.docx) files. I don't know how to open my word file or repair microsoft word. Any suggestions, guys, please.

 

User account control pop-up when running Google Chrome

Hi,



Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.



This issue could be because Google Chrome is set to Run as administrator that is why you get the User Account Control pop-up every time you open Google Chrome. We can change the settings to Run Google Chrome as normal and check if that helps.



Please follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Right click on Google Chrome shortcut on Desktop and select
   Properties.
   
2. Click on Compatibility tab.
   
3. Clear the check box for Run as
   administrator.
   
4. Click on Apply and OK.
   
5. Open Google Chrome and check.
