    CONSTANT Sudden brightening of screen, then slow dimming with a SUDDEN brightening again.


    The screen on my windows desktop computers keep dimming and brightening. It is not the monitor, it only does it with 2 computers that run windows. It does not do it with the same desktop computers running the exact same hardware, with the exact same cables when they boot into linux based operating systems.The screen will suddenly get very bright, usually when I have highlighted some text or something has changed on the screen, then over time it will slowly dim and I don't really notice the change until once again the screen sudden just gets really really bright. I have turned off

    Screen dimming and brightening on its own.

    My monitor seems to be dimming and brightening on its own. My system is a desktop with a monitor which is really a flatscreen tv.

    Everytime I close out something the screen dims. When I open up something it brightens again but it may not stay bright. When doing MS Word it will dim and brighten as I do key strokes or scrolling.

    Right now as I'm composing this thread, it is staying bright.

    I just scrolled up to the top of the screen and it dimmed (looking for post button which I now see is below and not up).

    After upgrade to Windows 10, screen keeps dimming, then brightening!

    I have updated the Display adapters as per another answer, but the dim/brighten/dim/brighten issues seems to be persisting. Can anyone suggest another remedy please. My laptop is an HP Pavilion.

    I tried another monitor/tv and it did not dim/brighten randomly. So I will now focus on the hannespree.
