  1. Consumer Review: A Closer Look at IObit’s Software and Business Practices

Purchase Date: May 18, 2025 Refund Requested: June 19, 2025OverviewOn May 18, 2025, I purchased a bundled subscription from IObit via Paddle.com that included Advanced SystemCare 18 PRO, IObit Uninstaller PRO, and Driver Booster 12 PRO, licensed for 1 year on 3 PCs. These tools, on the surface, appear to offer powerful system optimization and maintenance solutions, and for a brief period, I found them to be incredibly effective. However, my experience took a dramatic turn, leading me to request a full refund and discontinue use just one month later. The Issue: Embedded Spam and Persistent

Getting Security & Maintenance to recognize my IObit security software

I have IObit software for antivirus and malware protection but I've had to turn off messages from S&M (no pun intended) because Windows neither recognizes that I have this Iobit software, it doesn't have Iobit listed in the various software options arrived
at from the link in S&M, nor have I found anyway to get Windows to learn that it has fully accepted and allows to operate these Iobit programs.

Does anyone know how to get Windows S&M to recognize software that is installed on my computer?

Is there any point in paying for Iobit Advanced Systemcare Pro -

I would not have anything by Iobit on my computers, paid or otherwise. Windows Defender has served me well.

I don't know about the current situation but in the past the company has been implicated with unethical business practices. There have been other issues as well. This is a particular concern for suppliers of security software. Trust is easy to lose but very difficult to restore.

There have been many favorable reviews on popular websites. Be careful with reviews on websites supported by advertising. The author of the review usually has no control over advertising and an ad for the product reviewed may appear somewhere on the website or even on the same page. Advertisers are not happy when they see this and start to think they should be advertising elsewhere. For that reason these websites generally do not publish unfavorable reviews. The most you are likely to see is mild criticism in an otherwise favorable review.

IObit Uninstaller 7 Free vs. Revo Uninstaller Free?

I wouldn't touch anything from IOBit. There is evidence the company has engaged in unethical business practices and many people have reported problems with the software. Maybe these issues have been satisfactorily dealt with, or maybe not.
