Windows 10: Contana now seems stupid

Have been using Contana and liked it, had everything setup and working just the way I wanted, now.......

1. Now it won't show my local city's weather in forecast mode, yet it does for my alternate city.

2. Now it won't show scores for any of the sports teams I am tracking.

3. What's with showing pictures with the news headlines, they are taking up the whole app space.

Really pissed about this, the two darn things I need it to do correctly, sports scores and weather forecasts now doesn't work.

I am using Windows 10 and Contana is there ...

Contana keeps sending messages and I need to replay to them to get out of Contana ...

How do you turn off (Just the message part) of Contana ... I want to keep Contana available ?

I would try disable it, then re-enable. A friend had a similar issue.

 

tried the disable / re-enable thing and it did nothing.

Is there a way to completely delete all stored info pretaining to Cortana and then just start fresh with it.

It continues to roll up the weather forecast on my city but not the others and won't show anything related to any of my sports teams.

At this point it is a complete 120% fail with extra fail sauce on top and topped off with fail sprinkles. *Mad

 

First, Turn off cortana from its 'settings'.
Turn off location from Settings->Privacy, then contacts, calendar and messaging.
Then click "Stop getting to know me" in "Speech, ink and typing".
Click "Go to bing and....." from Manage cloud info.
It'll take you to your settings page in Bing. You can clear your search history and also everything cortana knows about you in the cloud.





After that, Just turn on cortana from the search box, set it up. *Smile

 

What are fail spinkles? Anyway for me (I don't know if this is typic) the "modern" apps take it in turns to fail to update live tiles. Usually Weather works immediately, News works (News seems the most reliable as long as you click on it), Calandar seems quite reluctant and takes a day or so. Mail is terrible. It can take several days before it decides to start using live tiles.

I did what you suggested, cleared everything out of Cortana and started over.

Weather now works like it should.

I am not seeing anything still for my two sports teams that I am tracking the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears, however the Cubs don't play until tomorrow and the Bears don't play until Sunday. I think the way the sports info works is that the upcoming schedule for a team is not shown until the day that it is played and then of course no scores until the game is played and then only until the next game is played. And I suspect that because I started Cortana over that it is another reason that I am not seeing the scores for the previous games played.

Can someone comfirm that this is how the sports info for team tracking works in Cortana?

 

Yep. [EDIT] That could be the reason. I had the same experience when I did this a while ago, but not sure though. Stopped tracking sports since then. [/EDIT]
