Windows 10: continuing problems updating Win 10 pro 2022H2 - we couldn't complete the update - undoing...

Environment: Dual boot environment with Windos 10 Pro 22H2 - Linux Mint 23.1 Edition Windows 10 Pro Version 22H2 Installed on ‎21.‎04.‎2021 OS build 19045.3930 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19053.1000.0 2 years ago moved the windows installation to a new SSD - there is no Windows Recovery Partition Windows is trying over and over again to install the update KB5034763, fails and roll's back. suspended now for a week No further information than "We coulnd't complete the update ... undoing changes" - This is very annoying. Resetting or re-installing Windows

Win 10 1607 update

Installed the update manually at the the moment everything is bueno.
It seems that Microsoft has a big problem in there update department windows 7 update has problems win 8 update has problems. Windows 10 update is so-so.

I've got the same issue and following on @Arthur's suggestion, I had a look at my user SIDs in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList and some of them belonged to users that no longer existed in the system (I had previously removed them).

I've removed the dummy entries (luckily there were only a couple) and the update worked.

PLEASE save yourself some trouble and backup the registry before trying that.

 

HP laptop will not complete an update. It continually goes through updating then undoing the updates.

Since February or early March my HP laptop will not complete an update. It continually goes through updating the undoing the updates. It takes at least 20-30 minutes before I can use it. Please advise. It was running Windows 10, so I can’t turn off automatic
updates.
