    Continuous Freezes and bsods after errors 7000 and 7023


    Recently I upgraded my PC. A few weeks after that, however, I began to get freezes, which made me hard reboot my computer or bsods. Both of them happen after the errors 7000 and 7023 occuring simutaniously.

    Error 7000:

    The pgt_svc service failed to start due to the following error:

    The system cannot find the file specified.

    Error 7023:

    The 3555C7B8 service terminated with the following error:

    The system cannot find the file specified.

    My drivers are up to date and I've already tried the commands sys/scannow

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    and now I'm out of ideas

    Event ID's associated to BSOD 7001, 7000 & 1000


    Hi stacchz,

    Welcome to the 10forums Continuous Freezes and bsods after errors 7000 and 7023 :)

    Please note, only the red onces in the event logs are errors, any others are information event logs.

    For the 7001 event, I would suggest to create a new thread at the General Support forum.
    In the BSOD Crashes and Debugging forum we focus on BSODs only, rarely do we also handle restart/shutdown/freeze crashes but usually only when they are mixed with BSODs.

    For the 7000 event, the driver 'VBoxAswDrv.sys' is from Avast. I would suggest to download the Avast uninstall tool to get rid if left behinds *Arrow Avast Uninstall Utility | Download aswClear for Avast Removal

    For the BSOD event, the last one was on the 22th of previous month, unless you experience new BSODs anytime soon I do not see a reason to worry about it Continuous Freezes and bsods after errors 7000 and 7023 :)

    +1 to listing your full system specs, OS version, etc. I did only look at your BSOD log file.

    Run a Diskchk /R (I know you already ran one, so you can skip this)

    Run SFC /SCANNOW

    Report back.

    Continuous Freezes and bsods after errors 7000 and 7023

    System Log Errors 10010/7023

    The 7023 error is produced, because your Connected Devices Platform Service fails to start, Automatically in version 1607 and above (in 1511 was set to "Disabled")

    To resolve that, navigate to: Settings > Privacy > General
    Make sure you have the “Let apps on my other devices open apps and continue experiences on this device” to ON and reboot.

    This will take care of all the 7023 errors and consequently the 10010 produced from this one.
