Windows 10: Continuously BSOD video dxgkrnl fatal error Windows 10 dell XPS laptop

I've had a lot of crashes to BSOD/Bluescreen for few months, each time with the same error code which is VIDEO DXGKRNL FATAL ERROR. I'm Paul and I'm here to help you with your concern.

Yes, the Video DXGKRNL Fatal Error BSOD error is mostly caused by the graphics card.

I will recommend that you clean uninstall the currently installed Graphics card driver using DDU again but download and install the older/different driver version.

Also, Update BIOS if available.

I have an XPS15 9560. I am afraid this is linked to the Thunderbolt Dock TB16. To test it for yourself, you can disconnect your dock and see if it still happens. For me, it never happens once disconnected.

I got to this conclusion after testing lots of other options including reinstalling drivers, BIOS, etc i.e. doing what is recommended in this thread

Apparently, some recent update of windows 10 or intel has changed how the thunderbolt is managed. See below.

As a result, I now keep having the BSOD. Sadly not sure how to solve it. Would need intel / MS or Dell to update their drivers!

 

BSOD VIDEO DXGKRNL FATAL ERROR

Hi Microsoft,

I have an MSI GS43 it has two graphic cards, one nvidia and one intel integrated. When I disable the nvidia driver from device manager my laptop work like a charm, no error. When I enable the nVidia driver the problem appear. after a few seconds the blue
screen appear with the code VIDEO DXGKRNL FATAL ERROR. My laptop then tries to restart but it gets stuck on the msi logo and will not boot again. I neet to hard shut down and then restart. The windows restarts normally and after 3-4 seconds BSOD again and
again. I did update my video kard drivers and every suggestion which I've read.

I can also provide mini dump files or whatever it is needed for someone to understand the issue. I also have updated my Windows 10 to 1909.
