  1. Control Alt Delete required to get to login after windows updates

This issue first appeared on my work PC when it was last updated and now it has appeared on my gaming laptop again after updates. What is this and wth is Microsoft doing this for ? Is this the sign I need to install Linux ?

    ctrl-alt-del login sometimes not required

    Running Enterprise v. 1909

I enabled the login to requre "ctrl-alt-delete", and enabled "do not show last user"

But once in a while when my computer boot up, it would go straight to the login promt and bypassing the "ctrl-alt-delete" requirement.

Again, this happens once a while. What's the reason for this?

    ctrl alt del to logon

    Hi Diane,

Conflicts with the user account settings is one of the possible reasons why the secure sign-in option is enabled on your computer even if the box in the settings is not checked. I would suggest that you enable and disable the
Require users to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete. You can follow the steps below:

    • Press the Windows key + R.
    • Type control userpasswords2 or netplwiz and press the Enter key.
    • Click the Advanced tab.
    • Under Secure sign-in, check the Require users to press Ctrl + Alt + Delete checkbox.
    • Click Apply.
    • Restart your computer.
    • Open the same settings again and uncheck the Require users to press Ctrl + Alt + Delete checkbox and follow the
      steps 5 and 6.

Should you need further assistance, don't hesitate to get back to us.

Control Alt Delete required to get to login after windows updates

Suddenly I need to press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to enter my login PIN

Suddenly I need to press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to enter my login PIN. This was not the case before, and I suspect it is related to a Windows update. Anyway, I don't want to have to press Ctrl-Alt-Delete each time I login to my computer. I performed the
steps below to confirm that using Ctrl-Alt-Delete is NOT enabled for my account, i.e., The "Require users to to press Ctrl-Alt-Delete" is NOT checked.

Any ideas why I'm still having to press Ctrl-Alt-Delete before I can enter my PIN?

Press the Win+R keys to open Run, type netplwiz, and click/tap on OK.

    2. Click/tap on the Advanced tab, and check (on) or uncheck (off) the Require users to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete box under Secure sign-in for what you want set, and click/tap on OK.
