Windows 10: Control+arrow changes desktop instead of moving cursor to next word

I have an issue where I'll be editing a document or some text field, and I'll press Control + left or right arrow to move the cursor one word at a time, but instead it will change virtual desktops, as if I was hitting Control + Win + arrow. I found a workaround through a program called Sylphyhorn, which adds a lot of useful utilities to my desktop, and when Sylphyhorn is running the keys all work as expected. Very frustrating problem and I can't find a solution online. I've tried updating the keyboard driver, I'm up to date on patches, I've run SFC scans, the usual options. Any ideas on what's

How to disable combination control+right arrow back to normal

In text editors and web browsers the combination "control+right arrow" moves cursor to the next word (likewise for left arrow). But this is not working anymore as "control+right arrow" makes another window show up. How could this
behaviour be changed so that the combination works to move to next word (likewise for left arrow)?

When I have opened a program like Edge on my Windows 10 PC, the cursor changes form from an arrow to a circle with an up arrow and an arrow down.
This new symbol can not activate anything by moving it around with the mouse.
To close the open program, press Ctrl + Alt + Del to get to the job list.
At the same time, the circle symbol turns into the well-known arrow, and I can continue the work normally.

How do I avoid the annoying circle icon?
