Windows 10: Control keys using wrong key

I used the Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator 1.4 to create a keyboard layout. This layout has English set a the language and uses QWERTY. Pressing the Y key enters a y on the PC, but when I press Controll+Y it treats it as Control+Z and pressing Controll+Z is treated as Controll+Y. The language of the PC is English UK, the language of the Keyboard is English UK and the Physical Keyboard I use also has a QWERTY Layout. When I use one of the preinstalled QWERTY keyboards it works just fine, just when I use the custom one, it switches they keys around, when I hold Controll.For the custom keyb

Before we proceed, please answer the following questions to help you better.

• Does this issue occur only while using the Microsoft Office Suite?
• What is the exact error message that you get?

Check if the Sticky Keys and Toggle keys are turned on. If yes, I suggest you to turn it off. To do so, follow these steps:

• Press Windows key + I and click on Ease of Access.
• Click on Keyboard tab.
• Turn off Sticky Keys and Toggle keys.
• Check if the issue persist.

Have you [as dalchina suggested] checked the Asus drivers/downloads page for your model to find the latest keyboard utility they provide?

Such dedicated keys are always only controllable using a utility from the computer maker so that really is your only chance of success.

On one very old Dell computer that I updated to Windows 10, I used the keyboard utility {"Dell QuickSet"} that they had released for WinXP in 2008 and found that it controlled the keys correctly even in WIndows 10.
