Looks like version 1703 was the source of the problem. But the display settings I found are not as feature rich for fonts as they were before..i.e. changing the size of desktop icon fonts.

 

Missing Display Icon on Control Panel

Oh Where, Oh Where has the Display Icon gone? This has always been the first item on my Lesson Plans for new computer users. I have tried to resolve this issue with MS Tech help three times with no luck.

With the new update ( June 13) (Windows 10) the DISPLAY icon is missing in the Control Panel. This feature permitted the user to change the screen text and performed other display related tasks. Where is this important feature?

The first thing a computer user wants to do is resize and select a different font and larger font size.

• Select the Windows key
• Scroll down to Windows System
• Select Control Panel
• Select Display
• From the drop down list, select each heading
• From the drop select a text size for each
• Select Apply for the changes to take effect.

When I display Programs and Features in the Control Panel app and click on the drop down menu to display details, the display has the headings Name, Date, Type, Size and Tags. But only the Name and Size columns are populated with any information. The Date,
Type and Tags columns are blank. See below.

I would like to be able to view atleast the Date when the program was installed.

I do not have this problem when I display other folders.

Any help to resolve this will be much appreciated.
