Windows 10: Controller is connectet to Pc but isn't recognized by any game, Ds4 windows or steam

Hello, I have a problem with my controller.After my ps4 controller went out of Batterie, I loaded my controller and tried to reconnect. I used to use it with steam or DS$ WIndows and it worked fine. After the reconnect, both of my controllers didn't work.It gets recognized by windows and when I look at the device manager it's there, but when I try to use it in games it doesn't work. It also didn't get recognized by DS4 Windows and Steam. I tried to uninstall the controller and its driver, but it didn't work, I tried to use a USB cable and reinstalled Bluetooth drivers, and reseted both of my c

Dear oliverskrzyniarz,for some third party applications you will need to configure DS4 Windows to be recognized by the game;

Is the controller still recognized by Steam or DS4 Windows?

That's right. For simplicity sake, whatever you decide just make sure it's Xinput, as other controllers - like the DS4 - is Dinput and will need software or wrappers to run properly in most games. Steam has a built-in feature for controller compatibility which is neat for Dinput devices. Xinput controllers are plug and play and will be recognized automatically by Windows 10. Personally I use the latest Xbox One Controller (Slim/white) by Microsoft and it's perfect for games. Got it on sale so can't complain. *Smile

 

Windows 10 Build 10074 not recognizing controller in Steam games?

Hey everyone,

My boyfriend and I both just upgraded today to build 10074 and my Surface has had no issues.

On the other hand, my boyfriend's gaming PC seems to not recognize the Xbox One controller when playing games. On the Steam "Big Picture Mode," he can use the controller, but once he gets in game, it stops working.

We uninstalled the devices in device manager and through other places with no solution. I even tested it on my Surface and I don't have any issues using the controller once I'm playing inside the games. His controller is recognized and shows no issues on the PC side, but in Steam his controller isn't even recognized.

Anyone else having this problem? Anyone know a solution? I know with other previous Windows 10 builds we were able to fix weird issues with Powershell. I don't seem to see any solutions for this problem anywhere though, especially since the controller's drivers are now built into the OS.
