controller stops randomly and whatever the last input was usually running it will continuously run in that direction or imput for a second or 2 and then it's working just fine it happens enough to where it is annoying and not very playable, it's a Playstation controller and I'm using a USB connection it's on windows 11, not sure what it could be?

Please confirm a few things for me.

1. Is this issue occurring with ‘Steam’ being installed on your system?
   
2. Have you checked if the controller still works on your Windows when ‘Steam’ is not running in the background?
   

Please check with the following methods.

Method 1:

Stop the process for steam in task manager and check with this.

You can stop ‘Steam’ running in the background by following the steps below:

1. Press ‘Ctrl’, ‘Shift’ and ‘Esc’. This will launch the ‘Task Manager’.
   
2. Click on the ‘Details’ tab, you should be able to locate the ‘steam.exe’ process if ‘Steam’ is running in the background.
   
3. Right-click on it and select ‘End process tree’ to stop the ‘Steam’ running in the background.
   
4. Check if the controller is still working on the Desktop.
   

Method 2:

I would suggest you to check the settings in the Steam application. You may follow the steps below:

1. Launch the ‘Steam’ application, click on ‘Settings’.
   
2. You should be able to locate the ‘Controller’ option under ‘Settings’.
   
3. Under ‘Controller Configuration’, click on the ‘Desktop Configuration’. Please confirm the settings there.

Old title: Input devices stop working randomly

Recently I upgraded to Windows 10 on a new computer I just built. Before I upgraded, I was not having this problem, then once I upgraded the problem started. Everything was running smoothly for the first couple of days, all drivers are installed for everything,
everything on my computer is up to date, but randomly, usually when I'm playing games but sometimes at other times, my controller, if I'm playing a game, will stop working, and my keyboard won't type anything and my mouse will move the cursor but when I try
to click something it just makes a loud tri-tone beep. When I press the reset button on my computer and everything boots back up, it is all okay. I did a little research and I found no problems similar to mine, I asked around to friends, people who know more
about computers than me, and a couple of others and they had no answers for me. I just want to know why this is happening, Thanks so much.

 

English US keeps appearing as an input language occasionally.

I understand the inconvenience caused.

From the issue description, it looks like you have English Input downloaded and installed in the system. I suggest you to follow the steps below to remove the English input language and check if it helps.

1. Press Windows key + R.

2. Type control and press enter to open the control panel.

3. Type language in the control panel search box and open it.

4. If English is listed, double click on it and click "remove" under "input method".
