Windows 10: conversion of Lenovo wired headphones

I recently purchased a "Lenovo Go Wired ANC" headset. In the description on line it said that is was a wired ANC headset, and that was all. I wanted a regular set of headphones with an active noise control circuit in it, with am regular 1/8" stereo phono plug at the end. The picture of it had only the wire hanging down from the headphones, and no plug at the end pictured. It also said NOTHING about it only being used on a computer. When the headphones arrived by UPS, I was surprised to find only a USB connector at the end , with the Microsoft logo on the box. I tried and tried and tried t

2. How are you trying to connect the headphones to the laptop?
   
3. What is the model number of your ASUS laptop?
   
4. Are you using a wired or a wireless Bose headphone?

and try connecting your headphones to the laptop.

Win 10 - 2004 update - internal speakers but no headphones

Wired headphones. Usually when plugged in the audio to the internal speaker is cut-off and switched to headphone. When headphones are plugged in now this does not happen

BTW this is true for 4 other Lenovo machines I have - no headphones listed
